Important Notice:

Starting from January 1st 2002, the Euro currency will circulate in Italy together with the Italian Lira. Starting from March, 1st 2002 (i.e. the day after the end of the EW2002 conference), Liras will be no longer in circulation, and therefore will not be accepted as a means of payment throughout Italy. Conference attendees are therefore encouraged to use the Euro currency during their Italian sojourn. For more details, visit the EU Euro website.

Hotels:

The conference venue, as well as the hotels, are within walking distance from Florence Santa Maria Novella railway station . There is no need to bring a car to this event unless you have additional plans which require independent transportation.
All participants will be accommodated in hotels in Florence, all within walking distance of the conference center. Further details concerning booking procedures and prices are available in the registration form. Please fill it in and return it to the Organizing Secretariat. To guarantee your room reservation, please send the required deposit. The deposit is not refundable after October 15th, 2001. Reservation for an extended stay at the same prices may be arranged.

Flying in to Florence:

Florence is served by two international airports with regular daily flights via major domestic and international airlines:

Pisa airport is connected to Florence S.M. Novella railway station by train (almost every hour, see table below). A regular scheduled bus service connects Florence airport and railway station. Major car rental companies are located at both airports arrival areas.
