Goals
This course is intended to provide the theoretical background and the basic methodologies for developing networked embedded systems. It enables students to design and implement applications - based on netwoked embedded sensor and/or actuators - in several application domains, including smart cities, smart mobility, smart buildings, smart grid, etc.
As part of the course, a number of seminars, given by indutry representatives, will be organized to present industrial solutions available in the above-mentioned application areas.
Expected Background
- Basic concepts on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems
- Principles of Concurrent and Distributed Programming
- Sensor Network Programming (TinyOS/NesC and/or Contiki)
